Topic: Problem verifiing signed mails using thunderbird and enigmail

Hello everybody,

I have a problem verifiing mails signed and sent using thunderbird and enigmail - here is the scenario:

1. System:
MS Windows XP SP2
Mozilla Thunderbird Version 2.0.0.9 (20071031)
Enigmail Version 0.95.6 (20080101)
gpg4win 1.1.3

2. System:
MS Windows XP SP2
Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.11
FireGPG 0.4.8 (gmail)
gpg4win 1.1.3

3. System:
MS Windows XP SP2
MS Outlook 2003
gpg4win 1.1.3

Sending signed mails from 2. to 1. or 3. system does not make any problems.
Sending signed mails from 3. to 1. or 2. system does not make any problems.
Sending signed mails from 1. to 3. system does not make any problems.

But:
Sending signed mails from 1. to 2. system does not work correctly. When I try to verify PGP signed message, FireGPG says invalid signature (sometimes "False sign").

I already tried several settings / mail adresses, keys (RSA/DSA) and computers, but it doesn

Re: Problem verifiing signed mails using thunderbird and enigmail

What I would recommend is to see if its a firegpg problem or gpg problem.  I would copy your email to a file, and then run gpg from the command line on the email file, to see if it is verified at the command line.  This would tell us if its a gpg or firegpgp problem.

Re: Problem verifiing signed mails using thunderbird and enigmail

gpg --verify xyz.txt says "Good signature from ...."

Re: Problem verifiing signed mails using thunderbird and enigmail

I have the same problem and it also works if I save the message from Gmail as text file and make an verification with the command line.
Is this problem solved already?
If you like I can send you an email with my signatur for testing.
Since I am German speaking I guess it is maybe a problem with the character encoding.
