Topic: decrypt sent email

If I use Firefox and Firegpg and encrypt an email and send it off.

How do I later go to my 'sent items' in gmail and look at the encrypted email I had sent and decrypt it, in case I want t see what I had written in the sent encrypted email.

Thanks

Re: decrypt sent email

You encrypt this mail with your private key too.

Re: decrypt sent email

Do you mean I should _DECRPT_ it with my private key?

Do I go to my 'sent' folder in firefox, open up the encrpted email I sent, highlight the encrypted part, and use Firegpg's 'decrypt' feature?

Since if I do that but use ENCRYPT firegpg gives me an error like 'It looks like that is already encrypted'.

I tried highlighting the text from the sent email, and using Firegpg's DECRYPT setting, but I get an error that reads like:

"Decryption failed. Unknown error
gpg decryption failed. No secret key"

Thanks

Re: decrypt sent email

Yop. And to do this you have to encrypt your mail with your private key and the key of your corespondant when you SEND the mail.

Re: decrypt sent email

in the firegpg options you will find something like: encrypt with my key too

Re: decrypt sent email

Correction: Your PUBLIC KEY is used to encrypt and your PRIVATE KEY is used to decrypt.  So, you add your name (i.e. your PUBLIC KEY) to the list of users for encryption.  Then, you can decrypt your own sent messages (with your PRIVATE KEY, just like the other people to whom you sent the message).

Re: decrypt sent email

Yep you're right, sorry
