I read that paragraph three times but never thought it had anything to do with getting an old version of FireGPG. Who would think that the paragraph about creating linux packages is actually telling everyone how to get the non-latest version of FireGPG? I would lead with "To get a previous version of FireGPG...".

I actually did look on the install page--first thing. But I'm afraid I don't see how to get an OLD version of FireGPG on the install page. I read every word. Nothing about old versions. Just a link to download the current version--which is broke for what I need.

How do I get an old version of FireGPG until a release is made with this fix? FireGPG erases the very information I need to see! The old version worked just fine.
Thanks

Re: Decrypt says 'Please select a valid PGP key before importing' (3 replies, posted in Bugs & problems)
I found the problem. It seems to be a conflict between FireGPG and another addon, "Nuke Anything Enhanced". The latest version of Nuke Anything flashes the current item that will be nuked when you float over it's pop-up menu item. If I avoid hovering over Nuke Anything's menu item on my way to select FireGPG's decrypt menu item, then everything works. If, however, my cursor touches the Nuke Anything menu item and the textarea flashes, then the decrypt or encrypt fails with the error message I gave above.
Hopefully this others will see this and will be able to avoid the problem.
Thanks.

Yep. The decryption text is selected correctly. Like I said, this exact thing worked again and again before. And, without me selecting anything different, after a while, it just suddenly works.
Also, note that encrypting causes the same error when selecting text in a textarea or input field. And there's no such thing as not selecting all the data when encrypting. For example, I just selected this text that I'm typing right now (in the forum's post textarea) and then picked Encrypt. The same error message was generated.
Thanks for the quick reply.

Topic: Decrypt says 'Please select a valid PGP key before importing' (3 replies, posted in Bugs & problems)
Since upgrading to the latest version, I usually get the error "Please select a valid PGP key before importing" whenever I select Decrypt from the FireGPG menu while I have a PGP encryption block selected. This worked flawlessly for months before upgrading.
After a while, the error goes away but I don't know why. I play around with every option I can find but it doesn't get rid of the message. Then I try it again at some point and the decrypt works. Maybe there is a timer involved?
The PGP block is in an edit field on a web form.
The error actually happens even when I select Encrypt. But, if I select just regular text on a webpage and select Encrypt, the error doesn't happen. So, this seems to be limited to Encrypting/Decrypting any text in a textarea field or input field on a regular web page form. I'm not using this with gmail.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
