Additional info:  the keys were created in PGP 6.5.8 and is recognized by firegpg.  It does hi light the unique correct key for the correct email address and pops up the list of all keys.  All it firegpg require is a confirmation, and then it encripts and send the msg correctly.

Thank you, the_glu!  I had forgotten to mention that if I encrypt with PGP 6.5.8, I can decrypt it in the current firepg ok.  So I hope it is easier to implement the other direction, such as choosing the correct set of options.

Hi,

I am new here.  I searched for this, but did not see anything on this yet.

Is there a way to add options or settings to firegpg or the gpg4win so that a an encrypted msg sent from gmail using firegpg can be compatible with PGP 6.5, so that I can decrypt using PGP 6.5.8 at my receiving end?  Currently I simply get the error 'An error occurred' while decrypting.

When I sent my original msg, I had subkeys, which I now understand cannot be handled by wingpg.  So I tried one without subkey.  Even for this, firegpg does not automatically and silently proceed with using the avaliable unique key, but popups a window with all my keys and the unitque key just highlighted, requiring me to confirm the selection.  This is really not need, assume it is confirmed if there is a unique key to a target address.  At least provide this as an option?

I totally agree with request and votes for this feature request.  I have a simpler scheme which we had implemented in PmMail for os/2 in the '90s.  When the user clicks Encrypt or Encrypt and Send, simply select from among the available pub keys that match the to address, for each of the recipients, (and in the cc, bcc lists also).  If there is a unique key for that address, just use that silently.  If there is multiple for a to address, give the user a choice presenting just those two or few (not the whole list).  If there is a key not found for ANY OF THE to, cc, bcc, popup a warning, and get confirmation to proceed with fewer recipients.

You go to http://getfiregpg.org (and not an another website...) and you click on install and then download...

Be very carefully where you download FireGPG, if you not take our xpi on our website, you can download an addon with spy wares or something like this !

Initially what I did was to search for firegpg from within FireFox's addon search.  I found it there. But it was version 0.4.1.  After install, I tried to update and then it did not appear to have any update.  Is it possible you have not update the FireFox's native site for addons, or your site is not linked to from FF site?  I thought the safest was going thru FF's native addon site !!

I was able update from your site, BUT IT SAID IT WAS NOT SIGNED.  For very security related plugin you may want to have it signed so that no warning popup?  Anyway, with a second install from your site, and after restarting FF, I am seeing the new version.

YOUR WARNING MAKES ME WONDER IF THERE IS ALREADY A FAKE VERSION OF firegpg FLOATING AROUND ??

I am very new to Firegpg.

Where do I get this 0.4.9 version from?  When initially installed or when I tried update, the version I have is 0.4.1 sad
