I understand everything you said, and thank you for the link. I appreciate all you guys are doing. All I wanted to point out was that Mac and 64-bit users are a large portion of your users these days, with Windows installs going 64-bit (not sure if these users were broken too as I don't use it), popular Linux distros like Ubuntu coming with 64bit installers and Macs gaining a large percentage compared to previous years in the home user and business user market and with recommended memory for some applications and whatnot being upwards to 4gb or more.

Again, I appreciate all of the developers of FireGPG and other freeware software.

Maybe you should sometime read what we say. Firegpg is currently in beta stage since we begin, so if it's so critical for you you shouln't use it. And we're voluntairs, we do what we can. "THERE IS NO WARRANTY FOR THE PROGRAM", blablabla (gpl),

Be sure that we drop (again, only for a moment for macos/x86_64) some support not for the fun... Security is more important

Btw there is currently not alternatives for Gnupg/Firefox so...

I have read what you said. I realize it is in beta, but not supporting Mac and x86_64 these days is a horrible decision, that is a very large user base to not support. What does not make me happy was your response. Nothing like "we are working on it and will have an announcement when support for these architectures is implemented" or something along those lines, just "wait". Any developer should realize this was the wrong approach and will create outrage among the community.

It was nice using FireGPG then. Since I use this for work, I cannot afford to not be able to use something and the company not support something that has worked for many months. My company will be looking for an alternative, suggestions are welcomed.

Il you're running Ubuntu x86_64 it's won't works. Same for Mac OS. Wait for the next release.

That seems like a very counter-productive answer to the problem, especially since it has been working up to this point. Since there are many 64bit kernel users and many Mac OS X users, why not fix the problem?

I am having the same issue. Firefox 3.0.3 and newest update (couple days ago) of FireGPG. I am running Ubuntu 8.04 and it was working before the update. I installed the IPC libs I found in apt just in case, made no difference. Please help fix as I use this for work and cant decrypt using FireGPG (gpg console sucks!). Thanks.

I have verified this has happened to other co-workers as well. They are running Mac OS X.
