Gmail page jumps up and down

I've seen this problem posted here before, FireGPG causes a page with many threaded posts to jump up and down as FireGPG checks each one for a signature. Is there any way to prevent FireGPG from effecting gmail unless I explicitly tell it to? I don't want to turn off gmail support because the embedded buttons are very nice, but I simply can't use it if my pages jump for minutes on end. Is there any way to stop FireGPG from automatically searching for signatures or encryption?
