It's probably a false positive, this Crypt.Cfi is a generic test, .BE dosen't exist : http://www.avira.com/en/threats/section i.gen.html
We will do some tests soon. There is nothing strange in the public xpi for the moment.
I'm using Avira Antivir as well and I'm getting a virus alert.
FireGPG HASEN'T ANY VIRUS. It's a problem with Avira, Crypt.Cfi is a heurisitc test (based on the comportement I suppose) and he suppose that FireGPG is a Trojan.
I have contacted Avira to know why there is that problem.
Ok, the problem is hstart.exe (for hide commands windows). Lasted version (8/8/07 who is now signed) dosen't have this problem.
Update coming soon, 13GMT+1
It's a false positive :
Dear Sir or Madam,
Thank you for your recent inquiry.
We could not find a virus in the attachment you have sent us.
This is a false positive. We will take out the pattern recognition in one of our next updates.
We thank you for your assistance.
Attachment(s) you sent:
- hstart.exe (firegpg.xpi)
Just note: this thread is not about version 0.4.2.3 but 0.4.3.
It was only small typo in News, already fixed.
