Topic: FireGPG with GMail2 doesn't work

I'm using FireGPG 0.5.1 with Firefox 3.0.1 and GMail2 under Ubuntu 8.04 and I don't see any buttons or a selection list.

Also if I right click on the text (in the e-mail text field) and select encrypt it opens up the key selection dialog, but afterwards the operation result window comes up instead of just changing the plain text into the encrypted one (in the e-mail text field). It works perfect in the e-mail subject field though (doesn't make much sense, I know).

I'm also using the "Better GMail2" Firefox addon, but disabling it didn't help.

Does anyone else have this issue?

Figured out what the problem was. I have to add a recipient first, then the FireGPG menu pops up. Maybe you can chance this for the future version.

Another question: what's the difference between clear sign and sign?

I have the same problem with the different buttons not appearing in the Gmail "compose message" screen. Firefox 3.0.1 french, gmail2 (i tried english and french with no change), fireGPG 0.5.1 and Better Gmail2 0.6.1 (also tried with or without), greasemonkey 0.8.
However, the difference with Stephan is when i "riht" click in the text i can encrypt directly.
Stephan what do you mean to add a recipient first ?
Does it comes from a new gmail version (although i tried to come back to a previous one) ?

I have the same problem
FireGPG 0.5.1 bettergmail 0.6.1 and FF 3.0.2
The Gmail screen is not showing any of the fireGPG buttons (nor a list if I try that), also fireGPG is not identifying any PGP blocks unless I select them first in the page, and if I right click, it still asks me to select text first

Ok, as you're a lot I think we can assume that google make a new gmail. Now, I just check with 2 accounts, they work, so we have to wait (I suppose you won't lets me access to your accounts wink)

Hi all!

I believe that I'm having the same issue: the Firegpg's buttons at composing time doesn't show up.

I've tried several things in order to see what the problem may be. Reinstalled Firegpg, disabling Gmail's lab features, disabling some Gmail related Greasemonkey extentions. The only thing that worked was to use Gmail's "older standard version" (clicking the link in the upper-right corner).

I think Firegpg was working with the new version, but it doesn't work now. Maybe they changed something in this new version, and the older one stayed the same.

Hello. I just installed firegpg today and it isn't working for me either. The encrypt option doesn't pop up on top of the window when you want to send an email. I thought is was just me so I registered here but I see that more people have the problem.

Now it works! Thanks a lot for the quick fix!

Just to mention, in my case the buttons (or the combobox) doesn't show simultaneously with Gmail's standard buttons. Firegpg options appear ~5 seconds after the compose screen is displayed. It's alright, but I was initially fooled by that.

Yop, we know there is a delay. It's because it's impossible to know when the 'page' finish to load (it's not a page like gmail1 but ajax) so we try ~10s after a click to find to elements in the page.

So when we found the solution we will use it wink
