Topic: FireGPG 0.6 no longer lists private keys

I just upgraded and it was working fine previously but now it isn't listing any of my private keys.  The GnuPG installation that I had before has not changed.  The only thing that was altered was the version of FireGPG.  I'm going to try to revert back to 0.52 and see if that corrects the issue.  Enigmail is working fine with my install on the Thunderbird side of things.  Both installs point to the same gpg executable.  GnuPG 1.4.7

Re: FireGPG 0.6 no longer lists private keys

Fixed in 0.6.1. Thanks.

Re: FireGPG 0.6 no longer lists private keys

Ok.  Continuing on.  I have updated to 0.6.1 but now I get the follow error.

FireGPG is unable to access the gpg executable.  Make sure GPG is installed or specify the path in the preferences.

I have specified the location manually and made sure gpg is installed there but still get the error.  It worked fine in 0.5.  I had just done a downgrade earlier to verify.  If you want to send me a test version before release then let me know.

Somehow this seems like it started happening after the IPC change.

Re: FireGPG 0.6 no longer lists private keys

For me it's works now so...

What is your path ? (Maybe special chars like <space> interfere)

Re: FireGPG 0.6 no longer lists private keys

It didn't used to interfere.  Here is my location.

C:\Program Files\GNU\GnuPG\gpg.exe

With the <space> bit in mind.  I'll give it a try using 8.3 context instead (I'm on Windows XP) and see if that works around the issue.

EDIT: Nope.  Didn't do anything for me.  Changed it to C:\Progra~1\GNU\GnuPG\gpg.exe to no avail.

EDIT: I just tried even C:\gnupg\gpg.exe to no avail.  Hmmm... (thinks about slashes).

What is your path location?

Re: FireGPG 0.6 no longer lists private keys

/usr/bin/gpg wink

In my vmware virutal machine I have the same path and it's works. If I force the path or not.

Maybe an security application who block execution of external programs ? (And allow it in temp ?)
What is your gpg.exe --version output ?

Re: FireGPG 0.6 no longer lists private keys

As I stated previously it worked fine with 0.52 (and since that one is not available I can verify with 0.5).  There are no plugins that should be blocking access to external applications however I think your path indicated that you are on a linux or unix based system.  I think that is the key and that it is working fine on the linux front but not on windows.  I'll verify in a bit.  Anyways I compared settings as listed in about:config for both 0.5 and in 0.6 and I found the following two keys to not be set after an initial load.

extensions.firegpg.gpg_path
extensions.firegpg.xpcom_state

To me it would seem that it is not detecting gpg at all and is not checking my path statement in 0.6 where in 0.5 it autodetected it properly and populated the first one.  The second one would refer to xpcom which if I read the notes right is no longer being used in 0.6.

Output of gpg --version

gpg (GnuPG) 1.4.9

EDIT: Well it definitely works on linux.  I tested it under Ubuntu 8.10 Beta and it worked fine.  I generated a test key (one month expiry) and checked and it works fine.  Maybe it is one of the extensions that I have installed so I will disable all of them and check for that.

On that note here is a list of extensions, themes, and addons that I have configured in Firefox...

Re: FireGPG 0.6 no longer lists private keys

Ok.  I went through and disable all of the above extensions.  Lo and behold it started working. neutral

After some narrowing and a little luck I narrowed it down to one extension.  It is FireFTP.  That extension seems to be causing issues with FireGPG.  Can you verify that it is occuring on the linux side at all?  I can actually do without that extension for now although it is handy.  As you can see there are a couple of test extensions from the likes of the Mozilla Labs.

If you can then it looks like we have a new conflict.  I'll confer over onto the FireFTP forums and see if anyone is bringing this up over there at all.

Re: FireGPG 0.6 no longer lists private keys

Ok, I will check.

Re: FireGPG 0.6 no longer lists private keys

I see exactly the same. FireGPG can't find gpg.exe until I disable FireFTP. Running on XP
