Topic: FireGPG getting key from keyserver (error).

Regardless of what keyserver I am putting into options, I keep getting unable to find key or something similiar.

Here are the error codes I am getting. And why is it looking for the private key? It should only be looking for the public key to verify signatures.

"You don't have the private key to verify this signature. Do you want to try to fetch it from the key server ? (C5787FA3EF733C40)"

"Error, key not imported!"

Re: FireGPG getting key from keyserver (error).

Private key is an error, it's the public key.

If there are an error, it's mean that :

- The key server is not responding (change it in options ?)
- The key is not on the server.

Re: FireGPG getting key from keyserver (error).

As I stated earlier. I kept changing the server in options. But I have the exact same server in WinPT and in FireGPG, but WinPT is able to find the key.

Re: FireGPG getting key from keyserver (error).

Can you do a manual search ?

Re: FireGPG getting key from keyserver (error).

I get a clock for about 5 seconds then it disappears with no results. I used my own information. KeyID, Name, Email.

What kind of servers is it looking for? LDAP, HTTP, or HKP? The one I have listed is a HTTP one.

Re: FireGPG getting key from keyserver (error).

Same as gnupg wink

gpg --keyserver yuorkeyserver --search-keys tralala

On the command line return what ?

Re: FireGPG getting key from keyserver (error).

Hum, very strange..

Any javascript error in console, _related to firegpg_ ?

Re: FireGPG getting key from keyserver (error).

Not directly. I cleared my Error Console. Java Console is greyed out. Tried again and this is what I have in Error Console after trying.

3 instances of:
url.indexOf is not a function
chrome://web/content/vwp_overlay.js
line 478

7 instances of:
Error in parsing value for property 'display'. Declaration dropped.
https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=#& … hanumeric#

# and alphanumeric# are masked. Alphanumeric i think is based on my google cookie.

Re: FireGPG getting key from keyserver (error).

And with the console of Console² (it's an addon) ? (with Chrone button active)

Re: FireGPG getting key from keyserver (error).

Not sure what you mean by Console2. Chrome is installed on my system, but this is all through Firefox. Not sure if there is a Chrome add-on to Firefox. But I believe that Firefox handles Chrome URLs now. Not sure how it handles them though.

You can contact me by any of my IM's available. We'll just have to post my result here when completed.

Re: FireGPG getting key from keyserver (error).
