I select an encrypted email in gmail.
It displays the encrypted data on the screen.
A dialog pops up asking for the passphrase.
I enter it.
The encrypted data goes away and is replaced by a white area
along with two locks along the left side.
No decrypted data appears.
Along the bottom another lock appears with a green dot and the words 'decrypted email'.
This email displays properly in mutt.

Same here. Successfully decrypts, but cleartext is not displayed. Using: Ubuntu 8.04 64bit, Firefox 3.0.14 with adblock, autopager, xmarks, gmailmanager, download statusbar.
I am able to mouse select, decrypt, and view blocks with firegpg manually.
Really nice app. Thanks for your work.
Just to follow up. I disabled all of my add-ons/plugins etc except for firegpg and restarted. The problem was still there.
Another followup. Tried it at home on Ubuntu 9.04 32bit and Firefox 3.5.3 and the problem is still there.
Btw, you should use FireGPG integration for gmail (current broken) and no select the text to decrypt it. But I will try to fix the problem anyways 
The same problem here (exactly as described by snblitz).
windows 7, gnupg 2.0.12, firegpg 0.7.10
The decryption works fine with thunderbird-enigmail.
interestingly: firegpg can not decrypt any encrypted received mail, except
* my sent ones (which I encrypted with my own key)
* received mail sent to myself
