Re: Firegpg can't find gpg
OK, I have uninstalled FireFTP as I do not use it that often. Then I reinstalled FireGPG. I am still having the problem with the path not being found to the gpg executable.
The path is set in both the FireGPG options and the about:config extensions.firegpg.gpg_path key.
I just recently reinstalled GnuPG and the stupid Windows part. It seems to me that for a short while FireGPG worked just fine with only the GnuPG gpg executable on the hard drive. I am not sure why I need a Windows key manager, but OK, that is what the instructions say.
Additionally gpg is in my PATH on Windows ... not that Firefox or FireGPG seem to care about this. In other words, I can run the gpg executable at the command line from anywhere.
This is what I am running:
WinXP SP3
gpg 1.4.9 with gpg4win 1.1.4
Firefox 3.0.7
FireGPG 0.7.4
I would love to be able to use this application and teach my non-techie friends how to use it as well, but I have never had a stable version (even when it did kinda work before, it may work once and then I would go to encrypt again and Firefox would freeze).
Does anyone have anything they could suggest for me to try? It was pointed out previously that there are conflicting libraries. Was uninstalling FireFTP and reinstalling FireGPG sufficient? Is there a certain place that I need to go to make sure I have the right library?
gpg (GnuPG) 1.4.9 (Gpg4win 1.1.4)
